The Sacred Heart of Jesus Health Center is currently in Phase One of construction for a hospital in Betania, a village in the parish of Cúa, Venezuela. This hospital will serve the over 400,000 residents of this impoverished community. Thankfully, with our first donation campaign achieving just over $1 million, we were able to pay for all architect designs, blueprints, health and municipal permissions, land movement studies, surveys, environmental impact testing, and first land clearing and development for the first building. We have received all permissions to begin construction and we are now in need of your help for our second fundraising campaign (Goal:$1,000,000).
This hospital will consist of three phases. Phase One will operate as a general primary healthcare clinic providing outpatient medical services, where patients are assessed, diagnosed, and treated without needing an overnight stay in a hospital (Total Cost: $2 - 4 million). As we continue to raise funding, we will advance construction to build Phase Two (Day Hospital with Emergency Department, and Surgery Unit; Total Cost: $10 million). Followed by our Phase Three (Full General Hospital; 40 beds, General and Specialty Surgery, Pediatric Unit, Maternity Unit, Rehabilitation Unit, Radiology, Laboratory, and Pharmacy. Total Cost: $15 million). Total budget for project: $30 million
This project is the construction of the rectory, chapel, convent, clergy house, and choir stage. This is an expansion of the current chapel in the Sanctuary of Betania.
Update: Thanks to our very generous donors the church, chapel, and choir stage have been completed. We are so grateful to Terry and Anna Darby for supporting this project and helping us achieve this monumental vision. The next portion of donations for this project will go towards constructing the convent for the nuns and rectory for the priests.
This project is concentrated on developing the farming and agricultural land next to the Betania Sanctuary. We have constructed 10 greenhouses that are growing organic foods such as basil, cilantro, arugula, peppers, sweet potatoes, bananas, papaya, peanuts, onions, honey, and tilapia farming in the lagoon. Additionally, we have planted 5 acres of passion fruit, 500 coconut trees, and 15,000 coffee trees. The Betania Agricola farming project provides jobs to over 50 families. The food harvested is divided up between the church, workers, and half of produce goes to the local market for selling to maintain production costs.
Here you can give a general donation. These donations will be used for our food and medical drives as well as buying food and clothing the surrounding impoverished community.
